Pulitzer Prize Winning Historian to deliver keynote at annual Susan B. Anthony birthday luncheon

Rochester, NY - Doris Kearns Goodwin, Pulitzer Prize-winning historian and author of the acclaimed and monumental new biography of Abraham Lincoln, Team of Rivals: The Political Genius of Abraham Lincoln, will deliver the keynote address during the annual Susan B. Anthony Birthday Luncheon, to be held Tuesday, February 14, 2006, at the Rochester Riverside Convention Center.

Kearns Goodwin has been reporting on politics and baseball for over two decades. She is the author of several books about presidents and their families, including Lyndon Johnson and the American Dream, and No Ordinary Time: Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt—The American Home Front During World War II, that earned her the Pulitzer Prize for history in 1995. She is also the author of Wait Till Next Year: A Memoir, published in 1997, about growing up in the 1950s in love with the Brooklyn Dodgers. She is a commentator for NBC and a consultant and on-air person for PBS. She is also the first female journalist to be admitted to the Boston Red Sox locker room.

The luncheon will be held from noon to 1:30 p.m. Feb. 14, 2006. Copies of Kearns Goodwin’s books will be available for sale before and after the luncheon and she will sign copies of her books after the luncheon. Tickets are $50 per person and $500 for tables for 10. Tables may be purchased now by calling the Susan B. Anthony House at (585) 279-7490, ext. 12.
