Susan B. Anthony House announces education contest winners
Rochester, NY - The Susan B. Anthony House is proud to announce the winners of the 10th Annual Susan B. Anthony Education Contest. The students will be honored at an awards presentation tonight - Tuesday, May 6, 2003.
The ceremony will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Eisenhart Auditorium at the Rochester Museum & Science Center, 657 East Ave. The doors will open at 6:30 p.m. for a reception and public viewing of the winning entries. The event is free and open to the public. The media is welcome to cover the event!
The awards will be presented by Janet Lomax of WHEC, Sandy Waters of WPXY, children's author Barbara Palmer, artist David Cowles and Dr. David Anderson, program director for AWKWAABA, the Heritage Associates.

The contest is open to all students in Monroe County from fourth through 12th grades. The goal of the contest is to increase students' knowledge of Anthony's life and achievements. Students are asked to express their ideas about the pioneer suffragist in the form of speeches, essays, posters, poetry and performance art.
The Susan B. Anthony House was Anthony's home during the most politically active period of her life and the site of her famous arrest for voting in 1872. Anthony' story of courage and determination has been told and re-told to visitors for more than 50 years. The Susan B. Anthony House is supported primarily through the contributions of its members.
